CFAMC member Bill Vollinger recently announced that a recording of two of his pieces, “Raspberry Man” and “Emmanuel Changed” has just been released on Navona recordings, performed by the Juventas New Music Ensemble with me narrating. Both pieces use rhythmically notated speech which bends the contours of the music, and both tell true stories about real people. “Raspberry Man” is a meditation about a guy who used to stand outside Jack Dempsey’s Broadway Restaurant in NYC and stick his tongue out at passers-by. "Emmanuel Changed" is about a little boy Bill used to teach, who went from provoking fights to fitting in. Bill considers “Raspberry Man” his best piece (so far). http://www.arkivmusic.com/classical/Name/David-DeBoor-Canfield/Composer/1867-1

Hi. My name is Beverly and I am a pianist from Hong Kong. I am sending this message to you because I would like to host a piano project which could be related to different parts of the world.
I am hoping to find composers who are Christians from different countries who would like to join this project. It would be nice if each of the composers could compose one solo piece for piano. At the end, I will give a piano recital on these pieces.
As we could see problems arise one after another in the world, “Harmony of the World” would be a theme for my solo piano recital. I hope I am able to get the support through your organization.
This is going to take place in Vancouver, St. Helen’s Church next year. Please contact me by email (bevbevleung@gmail.com) or Facebook (beverlyleung@hotmail.com)
My very best regards to all of you from different parts of the world! Bless you!
Love,
Beverly
